TRON (TRX) CEO Justin Sun Graduates from Jack Ma’s Hupan University
The Founder and CEO of the TRON Foundation, Justin Sun graduated from Alibaba’s Executive Chairman Jack Ma’s Hupan University.
Sun traveled to Hangzhou, China for attending lectures and presenting his thesis from March 26-28. Now, after three years of study, he has successfully completed his academics and is the program’s first millennial graduate.
On March 26, Sun had submitted a graduation thesis called “The Birth of a Decentralized Internet.” His thesis provided a detailed insight into his thoughts about the past, present, and future of the blockchain industry. Sun also presented “Reflections and Thoughts on a Four-Year Journey as an Entrepreneur,” which was a thesis defense. Here, he gave an extensive and in-depth analysis of his own thoughts and all of the lessons he learned ever since he became an entrepreneur in 2014.
There aren’t many entrepreneurs at Hupan University who had chosen to venture into the blockchain industry. It is one of the many reasons why the professors —including Zen Ming, the academic dean—and the students at the university had a positive response towards the presentations Sun gave.
He had attended the spring semester opening ceremony on March 27, and went to Jack Ma’s lecture that afternoon called “CEO 101.” After the class, Sun received his diploma from Ma, after which Sun updated him about the latest developments going on at TRON Foundation, as well as his future plans for the foundation and his thoughts about the blockchain industry. He expressed gratitude towards Principal Ma and the school board for encouraging and supporting him.
Ma congratulated Sun for his outstanding work ethic and his academic achievements. Sun attended the graduation celebration with fellow classmates, professors, and the school board.
Sun participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new campus of the university on March 28, officially becoming the first millennial graduate from the school. When asked about the three years he spent at the university, Sun said:
“I feel very lucky to be a part of the Hupan University community as a young entrepreneur. Since 2014, my business and academic careers have moved forward simultaneously. I was able to take the experiences and knowledge shared by my professors and classmates, and immediately put it into practice. This played a major role in informing my thought process and strategic decisions. In this sense, my startup journey is an experiment in Hupan values (improve society with moral integrity) and methodology (avert failure and take control of the future). This is also a crucial time for self-development, where I will hone my business sensibilities as an entrepreneur. I’d like to thank each and every member of the school board, professors, classmates, and staff, because all of them taught me invaluable lessons that will always stay with me. Hupan University is a wonderful community filled with positivity and warmth. Graduating from the program is just the beginning of an exploration into Hupan principles and values. There’s a long road ahead of us, and I hope to make Hupan University proud.”
