TRON SR Sesameseed Holds Inaugural Meetup

The promising TRON Super Representative, Sesameseed, recently held its inaugural meetup in Los Angeles.

The meetup saw a number of developers and TRON enthusiasts joining in from different parts of the country. Sesameseed took the opportunity to talk about SEEDgerminator—about how the funding is going to take place and how they would be going ahead with the development of the network.

Sesameseed has been very excited about their new platform, SEEDgerminator, and has been promoting it regularly. Back in June, they published an article telling the readers about the details of the platform as well as what the platform would mean for different stakeholders.

For TRON Foundation, the platform is:

“A sustainable and effective investment strategy, driven by the Tron community to fast track projects that will utilize the Tron network.”

For the developers, this is what the platform means:

“Access to the Sesameseed developer fund and a platform to campaign projects to the Tron community that will utilize them. Approved projects may propose to seek additional community investment in the form of SEED tokens, directly from Sesameseed members.”

For the community, this is what the platform means:

“Sesameseed members may vote monthly on the use of the Sesameseed developer fund. Funded projects will be encouraged to engage with members through airdrop’s, early access programs, etc. Community members may choose to investment further in projects utilizing earned SEED tokens.”

For Sesameseed itself, the platform means:

“Sesameseed will seek to obtain equity or other benefits in the projects it funds to sustain community growth, and improve the Tron Network.”

The platform is ready with its first project, Poppy. As their Medium blog explains:

“Poppy will provide its customers an easy to implement Tron payment integration on the Clover POS platform. Enabling customers to purchase items in TRX or basic Tron tokens at the retail will provide the customer a more robust experience will significantly reducing the transaction fee’s of traditional credit based payment methods. Seamless in-store and online ordering for clients, and a minimal barrier to entry for vendors will immediately open tron to hundreds of thousands of retailers.”

The blog later moves on to explain how the customers would be able to enjoy the same retail experience that they are used to and that they have come to develop a liking for—with the advantage of accepting TRX tokens:

“Leveraging the Tron blockchain, customers will enjoy the same retail experience they are used to, with the added benefit of accepting TRX and Tron Tokens. The point of sale will allow retail purchases utilizing Tron across a variety of methods including a Tron wallet, Tron style Card “TronCard” or the Seedit platform and application. Seedit opens Poppy to social media by allowing twitter, telegram, Reddit and other platforms to act as viable payment methods.”

Speaking about the community and market impact of the project, the blog says:

“By allowing seamless integration with the Tron blockchain, Poppy will enable customers to interact with retail in ways that do not currently exist in POS platforms today.
In addition to traditional payment methods (Visa/MasterCard/Cash), retail customers will be able to purchase goods and services by utilizing the blockchain in several ways including Social Media and the Seedit platform, Tron wallet transfers and the Poppy “TronCard”.”

Continuing with the explanation:

“Utilizing Poppy, a customer vendor relationship can bridge the point of sale and social media divide. Vendors may interface with their community by leveraging Seedit to provide discounts; complimentary items, “gift cards” and rewards on the blockchain, always visible to the POS.
The open nature of the distributed ledger facilitates an environment in which Vendor and Customer anonymity is possible, while still allowing vendors to reward loyal customers.”
