Fernando Alonso, Two-time Formula One single racing champion, is adopting the blockchain-run system of KodakCoin for graphic security.
WENN Digital Inc. is the partner of Kodak in creating the KodakCoin and also a new blockchain method to manage and store copyrights. It announced on June 28 that it had signed an agreement with Alonso to protect his personal as well as his professional videos and images.
“We live in a world driven by content distribution across different channels, especially during such large events as F1 and WEC. I’m very excited to know that I have the ability to reward my fans and professional photographers for their creativity and that the content they produce can be protected by a single platform.”
KodakCoin is a photograph oriented blockchain crypto used for payments in order to license photographs. It allows photographers to receive payment for licensing their original work as soon as the sale takes place. After that, they can confidently sell their work on a secure blockchain platform. The system is open for professional as well as amateur photographers.
WENN Digital Inc. created the KODAKOne platform and the KODAKCoin cryptocurrency in order to empower agencies and photographers to have greater control in image rights management. This was done through a brand licensing agreement of 2017 with Eastman Kodak Company.
The Chief commercial officer (CCO) at WENN Digital Inc, Benedikt Dohnanyl, said that
“The partnership has been under discussion for several months, and that the company may begin forging similar partnerships with other clients in the near future. We are currently receiving a lot of requests and interest from global brands, content creators and rights holders in these various fields, to whom IP protection is of particular concern.”
WENN Digital Inc. provides digital asset management and protection under the Kodak brand for image-related intellectual property holders and photographers worldwide.
