Bill Clinton to be the Keynote Speaker at Ripple’s Swell Conference

Ripple Labs announced that the former United States President, Bill Clinton, will be addressing a keynote at Ripple’s upcoming Swell conference on October 1. This keynote discussion is to be held on important topics revolving around a regulatory framework and new crypto opportunities across different industries.

Every year, the company invites leaders from around the world from fields such as technology, payments, and policies to discuss the benefits of including blockchain technology in the society on a greater scale.

While Ripple made this announcement through Twitter, in its official news release, Ripple also noted why they chose to invite Bill Clinton. Ripple stated,

President Clinton helped usher in a period of extreme growth and adoption of the Internet, shaping what it is today. He also established programs that bridged the “digital divide” and brought new technology to underserved communities around the world.

Gene Sperling, the National Economic Council Director will accompany Clinton and moderate a Q&A session. In the same release, Ripple also mentioned that blockchain technology is in its nascent stage of development and so a ‘thoughtful policy’ is necessary to ensure both innovation and customer safety.

Some of the important sessions that will take place at the Swell conference are

800 Pound Gorilla where experts will discuss and answer the big questions surrounding the adoption of digital assets.

Flashtalk: How To Launch A Payments App For Millions where Ripple customers will share what it took to launch the first mobile application

Central Banks Show and Tell where bankers will talk about their experience with blockchain technology.

This year, while there has been a drop in the XRP token sales during the second quarter, Ripple Labs has been expanding operations in UAE, Europe and other parts of the world. The company made important partnerships with financial banking institutions, money transfer and payment settlement firms.

Furthermore, Ripple is also gaining talented workforce. For instance, Kahina Van Dyke, who has previously worked in Facebook, Citibank and Mastercard, was recently appointed as Ripple’s Vice President for Corporate and Business Development.
